Leonardo da Vinci is Italian figure, he is an architect, musician, writer, sculptor, and painter of the Italian Renaissance. He is described as the archetype "renaissance man" and as a universal genius. He is famous for painting work named "Mona Lisa". Da Vinci is regarded as one of the greatest painters of all time.





Leonardo  da  Vinci was born on 15 April 1452 in Vinci city, Italy. He is the son of Ser Piero Da
Vinci and Caterina. His full name is Leonardo di Ser Piero da Vinci, which means Leonardo son of Ser Piero from Vinci town. He studied from the famous teacher and painter Andrea del Verrocchio.
Leonardo studied painting in to the famous painter  in Florence, Andrea del Verrocchio Verrocchio, and began painting in Florence when he was young. Any word tells Verrochio retired painting after painting his students to see that this one is better than the painting itself. In addition to being a painter, Leonardo was also able to demonstrate its ability in other fields such as writers, musicians, architects and sculptors.

In 1481 Leonardo moved to Milan to work with Duke (Duke) there. The results of his work during his stay in Milan was the Sforza Horse was doing for more than 11 years. But in Milan it is not only painting and making sculptures, but also transform the river  streets and building canals, as well as entertain lut Duke by playing and singing. Then he worked for King Louis XII of France in Milan and for Pope Leo X in Rome.

He helped Raphael and Michelangelo also in designing the cathedral of St. Peter. In his life, Leonardo was very interested in science. He began studying the flying  of bird and started designing a flying machine. In the sketch, there are the plans for aircraft and engine. There were sketches 'How Flying Birds'. All of these findings from observations of how birds fly. The conclusion of this study, he found a link on the size of the wing with the human body weight. Although this theory said that humans can not fly, but he gave few clues how birds fly.

He also examined a submarine. From his submarine research sketch can be seen, firstly he was attracted to the water flow. Then seriously examining fishs that swimming against the water current, as well as barriers to the flow pressure which occurs in the vessel, and left a number of five sketches of the hull, which is a big influence on the present.

All inventions or designs in the field of herbs and surgical sciences (anatomy), he noted carefully in small booklets. All the records he collected fine. He went from one city to another, as long as he wanders from Florence to Milan and Ambiose. His opinions were contained in memoirs book as many as 7,000 pages. In his notebooks, Leonardo left the sketches of many modern inventions.
There is a sketch of the study of the human body in his book also. At that time, the anatomy of the human body no more than estimattion,  because dissecting corpses was forbidden. He was brave to steal corpse. All his life not less than 30 corpses had be surgered and learned. In the next generation,  his idea contributed greatly to the medical world.

Not only that, Leonardo Da Vinci also left many Architect sketches. In his draft included the water tunnel, widening the road, air and light flow in accordaing with design of the city today.

Since childhood, he liked reading  in the library of his father in Florence. When was adult, Leonardo had his own library with a huge collection of books including Dante and Petrarch. He had many book collections from mathematics, anatomy, medicine and books on warfare. From there, his knowledge becomes more extensive and incisive.

His glorious invention was Last Supper (The Last Supper) that he made in 1495 to 1497. It was painted on the wall of Santa Maria in Milan. Another famous painting is the Mona Lisa which is now contained in the Paris Louvre museum.

A speculation about who the real Mona Lisa, among them  said the image of the woman is the custom face of Da Vinci himself. Another speculation said  that the women had ever existed, she was a merchant's wife.

Leonardo Da Vinci brought his painting to France when moving there in 1516. In France, the Mona Lisa was sold to the French king who was hia closest friend, King Francois.

In Leonardo Da Vinci’s era, there was existing of wristwatch, but the Leonardo Da Vinci’ wristwatch design was different and had own characteristics. Most other shows hours, minutes, and seconds but Leonardo’s wristwatch was different , the exterior shows the condition of the moon, such as round, half-round,and  the top left shows the 'minutes', the upper right shows the 'seconds'.

Leonardo Da Vinci was a incridible scientist, but basically, he still belongs to the world of art. He combined between science with art.  Leonardo was a genius man and can be seen from many sectors which he mastered and research he did. Even though the work he produces is not too much, but what is done by Leonardo Da Vinci is very useful in life in the present.

On May 2, 1591 Leonardo Da Vinci died and was buried in the Chapel of St. Kastel Hubert Amboise, France
